9h Capsule Hotel

The Kyoto capsule hotel is surprisingly not cramped, it is just that instead of having typical living spaces the facility has distributed the various functions of a hotel room to separate locations. On arrival shoes must be placed immediately into a shoe store and the guests are issued with slippers. Luggage is deposited on another floor of the hotel and clothes can also be handed in at the laundry, and guests are given pyjamas, a towel and toiletries in return. Men’s and Women’s showers are on yet another floor, and finally the guests go to one person cabins on the sleeping floors. 

Despite the name, guests can stay longer than 9 hours in this hotel, which they can check in and out of at any time, 24 hours a day – the minimum stay is 4 hours and the maximum 17 hours.
